Is SheepPro available on a trial basis?
Can I use SheepPro if I’m not enrolled in NSIP?
Can it run on LibreOffice or Windows system?
Yes, it runs on LibreOffice; for Window systems that don’t have LibreOffice, our package includes instructions for the LibreOffice download for Windows.
Where does the data get stored?
The package includes an H2 database file.
Do I need an internet connection?
No, an internet connection is not required.
Can I run SheepPro on multiple computers?
Yes, SheepPro would be hosted on the main server to which the other computers would be connected.
Can I buy just the desktop software?
Yes, for the entry level flock the desktop version will work fine; the SheepPro Mobile scanner can be added later, for additional portability. The SheepPro Mobile replaces paper and pen in the barn.
Can I import data from my other program?
Yes, provided you can export your previous data in csv or excel format.
Can I purchase just SheepPro Mobile?
No, SheepPro Mobile is only made to work with the SheepPro desktop.
Does SheepPro Mobile have all the same capabilities SheepPro desktop has?
Yes, it does!
Does SheepPro Mobile work with EID tags?
Yes, SheepPro Mobile will scan EID tags.
Can I connect SheepPro Mobile with my bluetooth scale head?
Yes, you can if you use the scale indicator head from Paragon Livestock Solutions.
Is there an auto drafter option to put in front of my scale?
Yes, although this feature is not currently available. We hope to have an autodrafter ready mid-2027.
Does SheepPro have an EID panel reader to put on the side of my chute or scale?
We have an EID panel reader that scans each tag as its goes past, sending that data to SheepPro Mobile.
Can I purchase additional SheepPro Mobile apps for my employees' phones so they can access data when out in the field?
Yes, assuming they can connect to the server hosting SheepPro, they can access data on SheepPro with the app. (Most likely you would have a closed wifi circuit on your farm to connect to the server.) They will need to manually enter the tag number since they likely won’t have a RFID reader on their phone.
Can I import data from LambPlan?
Yes, SheepPro is able to accept the dbf files that LambPlan provides.
Can SheepPro handle registrations?
Most of the data should be in SheepPro to do registrations. Some sheep breed organizations are switching to digital registry, so for now we aren’t planning to pursue that further.
Does SheepPro have adjusted weaning weight options?
Yes, SheepPro has 50-day adjusted weaning weights.
Will SheepPro support Genomic testing?
Yes, you can scan the QR code on the tissue sampling vial with the mobile device, then from the desktop populate the submission form and submit it to the correct party for processing.
Can I export data to excel for farther processing?
Yes.
